Apology and report on distribution problems at the online symposium
We received more than 3,300 applications for the online symposium “Talking with Mr. Michael Sandel, a future of coexistence beyond division” hosted by our corporation on December 9th. Due to a problem with , only 500 people could watch it.
We sincerely apologize to the many people who were unable to participate despite applying in advance and securing their valuable time. I am sorry.
We have found the cause, so we will let you know.
When setting up the Zoom webinar used for online distribution of the symposium, the person in charge of the system of the distribution contractor assumed that the maximum number of people would be changed automatically, and neglected to manually change the upper limit to 5,000 people.
Also, since we did not prepare a backup delivery route in case of emergency, we were unable to recover within the delivery time.
Although it was a human error caused by the person in charge of the system of the distribution consignment company, the organizer is responsible for the lack of management. We deeply apologize again. In the future, we will review the management system and strive to improve it so that similar situations do not occur.
For those who have applied for tickets, we will inform you about the archive distribution separately.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact our corporation.
